The Sony Photokina 2016 Website is Live

You can already visit Sony’s Virtual Online Photokina 2016 booth online if you want to get a sneak peak of what’s to come. I can’t wait till they start constructing these booths in Virtual Worlds for the rest of us to visit, maybe next Photokina. Sony also published a PDF of all of their presenters and it is a packed schedule across two stages. I really can’t imagine anyone seeing it all, but that’s kind of the point. I hope Sony manages to pull off some surprises, but ill be watching photorumors closely in the meantime for leaks.

Damn, I really hope the A7 III gets announced soon

    • Same… Sony needs to settle into a nice update rhythm that is reasonable and somewhat predictable.

Yeah I agree. The reason to me why I am hoping for the A7 III to have is one of 3 main things only which suffice enough for me to buy it:

        1) 0.78x Magnification: With the clearer glass for the viewfinder as found in the A7R II and A7S II

        2) BSI Sensor: It can stay at 24MP, just make it a bit better in low light and it’ll be worth it since it will occupy the $1698 entry price bracket without the fear of it being overpriced.

        3) Better battery life: It was adequate the one I had since I used it along with a grip. Maybe a new battery design will help it.

        4) Optional: Use the latest UHS-II SD cards. Nikon has XQD and Canon CFast 2.0. So why can’t Sony incorporate already pre-existing tech.

The magnification to me is the top of the list since I like using MF Zeiss lenses from old and new gens often. Saves on battery life also I’ve noticed, and was one of the reasons why I left DSLRs some years ago.
